Create a Hand-painted Pet Portrait for your favourite family member

Hand-painted for your favourite family member
Based in Brisbane, I paint from my home studio and work with clients across Australia. I'd be honoured to paint your pet so that they will always be a part of your home.

I'm Simi and I paint portraits for pets who are deeply loved ... the ones who feel like family.
"My portraits feel like a keepsake,
... something you can hold and cherish,
more than a photo on your phone."
Watercolour Pet Portraits That Capture Your Pet’s Spirit
Using bright watercolours on fine art paper, my work isn’t about perfect realism, but about capturing the expression and spirit that make your pet uniquely them.
I spend hours studying their eyes, the tilt of their head, the small details you know by heart.

The joy is always in the eyes!

Mason the Cavoodle
Mason is almost always in his papa’s shadow -quietly following along, happy just to be near. This portrait was painted as a Father’s Day gift, to honour that steady, everyday bond.
I kept the colours soft and understated, because Mason is an older boy with a gentle presence.

Nico the Labrador
Neko was the first baby, long before the extra humans came along. This portrait was painted as a Christmas gift for a family that’s grown quickly, with Nico right there through it all.
I kept the colours warm and simple, the way Labradors tend to be. Calm, loyal, and easy to live with, with those soft golden eyes that seem to take everything in without fuss.
Astra the Australian Shepherd
Astra is lightning in a bottle. She’s all movement and personality - bright, curious, and never quite still for long. The kind of dog who does things her own way and keeps everyone else on their toes.
Her human asked for plenty of colour, and it made perfect sense. This portrait leans into Astra’s bold nature, using vibrant tones and contrast to match her energy.
In Loving Memory of Lucy the Fox Terrier
Lucy was small but fearless, full of energy and love. She spent her days running the countryside, exploring every corner, keeping everyone safe, and curling up for a snuggle when the adventure was done.
This portrait was made to remember her just as she lived: bold, affectionate, and completely herself.

FAQs
What photos work best?
Clear, well-lit photos are ideal, but phone photos are absolutely fine. Send me your favourites and I'll help you choose the best ones. Clear facial details and light in the eyes make a big difference and really help bring the portrait to life.
Can I gift a portrait experience to a loved one?
Yes! I offer both surprise gifts and prepaid vouchers. The recipient can then send through their favourite photos of their pet when they're ready.
How long does a portrait take?
Portraits typically take 2 - 3 weeks to complete, depending on my current commission schedule. I'll confirm timing when you enquire. If the portrait is intended as a gift, let me know your deadline and I'll do my best to accommodate your timeline.
Do the portraits come framed?
Portraits are delivered unframed. Framing options are available for an additional cost if you'd like a finished, ready-to-hang piece.
How do payment and deposits work?
To secure a commission, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required via bank transfer. Once the portrait is complete, I'll send you images of the finished piece and request the remaining balance prior to delivery.
Do you ship across Australia?
Yes - I offer flat rate shipping across Australia for all unframed portraits. For international shipping rates, please get in touch.
